On July 30, 2026, African Queer Voices (AQV) joined community leaders, advocates, partners, and supporters for the grand opening of UnLocal’s new Community Resource Space in New York City.

The gathering marked an important milestone in UnLocal’s continued work to expand access to legal support, community resources, and services for immigrant communities across New York.

For AQV, the event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow advocates, strengthen relationships, and celebrate the work of organizations committed to ensuring that immigrant and marginalized communities have access to dignity, support, and opportunity.

As an organization working at the intersections of LGBTQ+ rights, migration, community empowerment, arts and creative expression, and global advocacy, AQV values partnerships with organizations whose work contributes to safer and more inclusive communities.

We are grateful to UnLocal for the invitation and warm hospitality, and we congratulate their team on this important milestone.
